From the Cozumel airport it is about a 10 minute drive. From the Cancun airport it was an hour drive to the ferry and hopefully you’ll arrive when the ferry is about to depart. Otherwise you will have to wait on the ferry. Then it’s approximately a 40 minute ferry ride. The hotel is a very short taxi ride from the ferry. The beach snorkeling in Cozumel is easier and better than the reef snorkeling in Cancun. There are no safety issues in either unless you are a complete dunce. Cozumel is cheaper, cancun is pricier. Cancun has a better high end nightlife. Cozumel has lots of drunken parties.The beach at the Grand Park is huge, wide and beautiful.
